Our health community has a supportive volunteer team performing a significant role in patient/client programs throughout South Gippsland Hospital and Community Health Centre. Working alongside salaried members of the hospital staff, volunteers add an important dimension to patient/client care services. We believe our volunteers are proud to be associated with the hospital and community care facilities which provide a quality patient and staff support model. The staff are most appreciative of the time and effort volunteers contribute.
The concept of volunteer assistance is an integral part of health services and, upon joining our volunteer team, you can be assured that your efforts will contribute towards achieving our common objective – to provide services which facilitate, maintain and nurture a healthy community.

Expression of Interest – Ward Assist Volunteer program
As a volunteer within the South Gippsland Hospital Ward Assist volunteer program, you will assist with providing activities and social interactions for inpatients and their families under direction of the Nursing Unit Manager.

Expression of Interest – Volunteer Catering Administration Assistant
As a volunteer with the South Gippsland Hospital (SGH) Hotel/Food Services you will provide assistance to the supervisor to label lids ready for the following week of meal preparation and delivery. The role will require 1.5-2 hours per week on a Thursday or Friday.

As a volunteer within the South Gippsland Hospital (SGH) Quality team, you will assist with maintaining a system for displaying accurate and current information in public spaces at SGH and on local community notice boards.
Training and support will be provided.
